Job Description


This position is responsible for the development, coordination and implementation of external communication for the Enterprise to enhance engagement with agents, customers, employees and the public.


  • Consult with internal departments/brands to develop communication, marketing plans, advertising strategies and creative concepts.
  • Assist in the development and management of content for all public websites, secure sites (agents/policyholders) and other microsites as defined.
  • Generate and manage the web editorial calendar for specific brands.
  • Serve as marketing point of contact for brands.
  • As project manager, prepare plans to meet specific needs for departments/brands.
  • Participate in the development of department goals, objectives and budget.
  • Write and review content to ensure agent and policyholder messages are clear, concise and connected to organizational goals.
  • Assist in other writing duties, including presentation development, speechwriting and external Enterprise correspondence.
  • Develop content for brand newsletters and video scripts.
  • Create and maintain brand marketing collateral to ensure information and materials are current.
  • Assist in the coordination, communication and support of brand events.
  • Ensure all documents meet established content and quality standards.
  • Work with minimal supervision.

    Bachelor's degree in Communication, Journalism, Marketing or related field. Continuous learning, as defined by the Company's learning philosophy, is required. Certification or progress toward certification is highly preferred and encouraged.


    Four to six (4-6) years in a marketing or communications environment, including the development of marketing plans. Relevant experience in an insurance organization highly preferred.


  • Knowledge of marketing theory and practice for agent distribution channels and e-business models.
  • Knowledge of product promotion and branding.
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry and the workers' compensation marketplace preferred.
  • Excellent working knowledge of computers and company standard software with advanced experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to effectively exchange information clearly and concisely, present ideas, report facts and other information and respond to questions as appropriate.
  • Ability to interact with others to build consensus and get decisions implemented.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to establish work flows, manage multiple projects and meet necessary deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to make competent, independent decisions.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to perform other assignments at locations outside the office.


    Work is performed in an office setting with no unusual hazards. Travel is required.
