Job Description

This position can be based in Lansing, MI or Southfield, MI or a combination of remote work from home.



SUMMARY:



This position is primarily responsible for analyzing, developing, planning, coordinating and administering Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) programs and services. Maintains accountability for HRIS data integrity. Participates in the strategic development of HRIS applications to support successful execution of Human Resources strategy and support company initiatives. Provides support for HRIS training to HR team, management and employees.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Participates in the development and maintenance of all Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) systems.
  • Assists in development of HRIS strategy and leads execution of aspects of strategy implementation. Recommends systems improvements to streamline HR processes and improve efficiencies.
  • Coordinates upgrades, modifications to systems with internal consultants as necessary.
  • Works collaboratively with external vendors and technical specialists to resolve systems issues and insure smooth functioning.
  • Coordinates and delivers system training for new and existing employees in Human Resources.
  • Responsible for all HR/Payroll integration and application interfaces to insure smooth HR system functionality and accuracy of payroll process such as GlidePath, EMCS, ADP modules, and Pension Path.
  • Leads execution of program enhancements.
  • Serves as liaison between Human Resources and BCBSM to resolve issues and respond to requests related to this position including but not limited to pension and employee data transfers.
  • Provides technical leadership to less experienced HR staff.

    EDUCATION OR EQUIVALENT

    EXPERIENCE:



    Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business, Finance or related field required. Certification or progress toward HRIS certification is highly preferred and encouraged. Progress towards, or completion of, PHR/SPHR and/or industry-recognized professional designation preferred. Continuous learning, as defined by AFHI's learning philosophy, is required.



    EXPERIENCE:



    Four years HRIS experience with ADP, Oracle, or similar HRIS systems including development, maintenance and training required. Experience creating complex reports from multiple sources of data using relational databases. Experience in large scale system implementation preferred.



    SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES (SKA) REQUIRED:




  • Knowledge of HRIS administration
  • Knowledge of ADP applications or similar HRIS system.
  • Knowledge of Oracle HCM Cloud modules (preferred).
  • Knowledge of MS Office products.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to effectively exchange information clearly and concisely and to present ideas, report facts and other information and respond to questions as appropriate.
  • Ability to convey compassion and helpfulness while exhibiting the highest level of customer service.
  • Ability and proficiency in the use of computers and company standard software, including HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Ability to establish workflows, manage multiple projects and meet necessary deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to perform other assignments at locations outside the office.



    WORKING CONDITIONS:



    Work is performed in an office setting with no unusual hazards.
