Job Description

SUMMARY:

Responsible for the Performance Office functions for Advantasure, including budgeting and forecasting, financial analysis, and performance and management reporting. This position is responsible for supporting the financial and business strategy development, execution, analysis and reporting against key measures to ensure the financial health of the business. This role will participate in the development, monitoring, and reporting of strategic performance metrics to ensure financial viability using proactive analysis and sound administration of policies and procedures. This role will work closely with the Emergent Holdings finance teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS:

  • Acts as primary manager over the finance team of Analysts, including managing, training, developing and retaining talent.
  • Balancing/prioritizing team workload to optimize the effectiveness of the department.
  • Supports the financial planning processes - develop annual budget, monthly and quarterly forecasts, and present company performance results.
  • Analyze and assess emerging trends and challenges across the P&L.
  • Create and support the business process redesign work including the Financial/Accounting/Reporting functions.
  • Leads preliminary financial due diligence activities including building complex financial models.
  • Conducts research of similar and like target companies and specific market and industry segments.
  • Presents findings and recommendations based on research and analyses to business unit leadership and stakeholders.
  • Facilitates the financial forecast process.
  • Develops and interprets statistical and accounting information in order to identify and/or analyze operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness. Develops recommendations for corrective action.
  • Prepares ad-hoc or on demand analysis and forecasting as requested by senior management.
  • Communicates and collaborates with various departments and teams across Advantasure and the enterprise including Emergent Holdings.
  • Works with minimum supervision.
  • Effectively Manages several projects at once.
  • Maintains confidentiality of information processed.

Job Requirements

EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field; or significant and appropriate industry specific work experience will be considered. CPA or master's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration preferred. Continuous learning, as defined by the Company's learning philosophy, is required. Certification or progress toward certification is highly preferred and encouraged.

EXPERIENCE:

Eight years relevant experience, including Supervision of Staff, Financial Planning and Analysis, Budgeting, Management Reporting, Strategic Modeling, Process Redesign, Problem Solving, experience using an Enterprise Resource Planning, (ERP) software application such as Oracle at a mid-size to large, growth-oriented company. Medicare Advantage or Technology Solutions Industry experience a plus.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES (SKA) REQUIRED:

  • Strong human relations, analytical, problem solving, influencing and decision-making skills required.
  • Strong knowledge of financial systems, process flows and internal controls
  • Ability to organize, analyze and interpret financial and management data to solve management and business problems.
  • Ability to conduct root cause analysis of various problem situations and address them or refer them for appropriate decision making.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective and efficient recommendations.
  • Ability to communicate complex business or financial issues in a way that is understood by different audiences.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to complete and present reports and presentations.
  • Excellent project management and leadership skills required.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed in an office setting with no unusual hazards. Minimal travel is required up to 15% of the time domestically.
