SUMMARY:

The managing director of data & reporting will be responsible for the overall strategy, performance, standards and direction of the data analytics and reporting department. This role will partner with business, technology, product and operations leadership to lead the delivery of business imperatives. The managing director of data & reporting will be responsible for the overall strategy, management, execution, and operations of report deliverables, that support Advantasure's business operations and client delivery requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS:

  • Build out and oversee all data reporting processes, including data governance and integrity approaches
  • Implement data reporting strategies and assure management of projects and resources
  • Identify and define both process and data improvements
  • Ensure compliance with deliverable reporting requirements by assuring quality data audits and analysis occur
  • Leads the work of functional areas through subordinate leaders and assists executives in defining organizational goals and strategic plans as it related to data and reporting
  • Develops data centric methodologies and analysis to support core business functions
  • Manage data insights and analytics, including building out operational dashboards in partnerships with all business areas
  • Own data analytics as it relates to performance measurement of reporting
  • Responsible for data & reporting as it relates to contract SLA, data transmission, data loading, processing and SLA's, for all of Advantasure products and clients.
  • Coordinate with Technology, Product, and Operations Leadership to define and support the data & reporting needs of enterprise solutions.
  • Influence senior leaders and all levels of technology and operations staff on all areas of the architecture, including policies, standards, strategies, and governance as it relates to Data & reporting.
  • Primary Data & Reporting interface with the C-level executives.
  • Responsible for establishing and enhancing formal processes, schedules, and SLA's for data & reporting, exchange, and transmission.
  • Provide expert advice on industry and application trends and strategy when analyzing and planning current and future IT needs as it relates to Data & reporting.
  • Be a stakeholder and provide guidance on complex architecture challenges.
  • Owner of all solutions and tools developed as it relates to Data & reporting.
  • Career management of Data Management team.
  • Sourcing strategy and execution of resourcing for the Data & reporting team.
  • Ensures comprehensive and complete work practices and processes are in place and effective.
  • Responsible and accountable for assisting with communications and marketing efforts for the Data & reporting department.
  • Participate in the development of programs as a strategic partner that supports the Company plan.
  • Participate in development of annual departmental budget, monitor budget and identify budget discrepancies. Research cause and make recommendations.
  • Responsibility for balancing workload to optimize the effectiveness of the department.

DIRECTION EXERCISED:

Directly supervises exempt and non-exempt staff in accordance with company policies and applicable Federal and State Laws. Responsibilities include but are not limited to effectively interviewing, hiring, terminating, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and counseling employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; supporting and encouraging the engagement process.

Job Requirements

EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field. Combinations of relevant education, certifications, and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Continuous learning, as defined by the Company's learning philosophy, is required. Certification or progress toward certification is highly preferred and encouraged.

EXPERIENCE:

Ten plus years of progressive responsibility in an IT data & reporting environment with demonstrated technical knowledge which provides the necessary skills, knowledge and abilities. Five plus years in IT data & reporting management and leadership required. Experience within the healthcare insurance industry highly preferred.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES (SKA) REQUIRED:

  • Broad understanding of business domains and preferred expertise in one or more domains
  • Project/Resource Management.
  • Deep understanding of development and project management processes and methodologies including common roles, responsibilities, and key deliverables.
  • Deep understanding of current technology environment, competitive landscape and industry trends in emerging technologies.
  • In-depth understanding of the healthcare insurance domain.
  • Knowledge of all components of holistic enterprise architecture.
  • Knowledge of business re-engineering principles and processes.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent analytical and technical skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent planning and organizational skills.
