Job Description


The Human Resource Data Analyst is responsible for delivering business and data analysis for human resource (HR) functions by applying statistical and/or logical techniques to describe, illustrate, and evaluate HR data.


  • Performs analysis around internal measurements and metrics to monitor HR programs (e.g., employee demographics, turnover trends, data collection and analysis, internal and external benchmarks)
  • Analyze both numeric and non-numeric data to identify trends, problems and propose solutions
  • Generate and analyze reports for special projects on a wide variety of issues for the purpose of assisting management with decision-making and compliance reporting
  • Create custom reports including data vendor feeds
  • Review, assess and make recommendations for new solutions, improvements, and/or enhancements to existing company or HR related processes and procedures
  • Review and audit HR data on a periodic basis; take actions to help ensure integrity in systems and processes
  • Designs and develops queries for reporting and special projects
  • Assist in system maintenance and administration
  • Conceptualizes and designs multi-system reports

    This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required.



    Bachelor degree required with a major in Business Management, Human Resource Management or Organizational Development preferred.Continuous learning required, as defined by the Company's learning philosophy.


    Minimum three years experience in a human resource environment with proven experience in operational analysis, data analysis, and problem resolution type activities. Experience running and developing queries from a human resource information system is required; experience with ADP or Oracle applications preferred.


  • Must have knowledge of core HR functions and disciplines
  • Ability to extract information from data in a robust way
  • Strong technical skills, understanding of data sources and the ability to use a variety of HR systems to acquire data:
  • Ability to plan, organize, direct and control projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lead and contribute to process improvement projects
  • Working knowledge of PC applications and/or mainframe required
  • Ability to assess the relevance of a request and how a report will solve a particular business need
  • Demonstrated skills with process development and governance of information data standards
  • Demonstrated skills representing the business in data and transactional system initiatives
  • Expert level understanding of data architecture as it relates to business processes
  • Solid understanding of statistical principles and practices
  • Superior analytical skills
  • Demonstrated skills in a variety of database platforms, data acquisition techniques, business intelligence and analysis tools

    Work is performed in an office setting with no unusual hazards. Minimal travel with some overnight stays may occur.
