Job Description

Accident Fund Insurance Company of America is seeking an Application Technical Lead in Lansing, MI.

Job Duties: Implement the technical direction set by the Architect team of software solutions within the Company. Evaluate third-party vendor software for compatibility with Accident Fund's strategic technical direction. Provide leadership in the design, development and delivery of technology-enabled applications, products and services to business problems. Provide technical leadership on complex projects and problems. Formulate and define system scope and objectives. Devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time and form of desired results. Prepare detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Responsible for program design, coding, testing, debugging and documentation. Provide technical leadership in multiple phases of a project, ensuring coordination of assignments to IS resource management and escalating key decision points that deviate from the provided technical direction. Instruct and check the work of development team. Establish technical direction of solution development across a wide variety of application tools. Coordinate direction of development architecture with technical experts in other disciplines of Information Services. Assist in implementing strategic vision for systems / solution delivery. Participate in design and review of technical design for development staff. Serves as a project leader and mentor to less experienced developers. Perform extensive analysis and design by working on projects of all sizes that require exposure to all aspects of the project life cycle. Participate in evaluation and selection of software tools and packages.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Information Services, or a related field of study and seven (7) years of experience in the position offered or as an Application Developer, Systems Analyst, or related role. Must have five (5) years of experience with each of the following skills: insurance business applications; project management; software platform design; object-oriented development; and web-related technology. Must have three (3) years of experience with Guidewire ClaimCenter versions 4.x and 5.x. Must have two (2) years of experience with each of the following skills: database administration; data warehousing; and computer systems architecture.
